THP Arrests 2 for ID Theft

A routine traffic stop by the Tennessee Highway Patrol resulted in the arrest of two Florida men on identity theft charges.
On Monday, Trooper Andrew Conners stopped a GMC Yukon XL on I-24 in Rutherford County. After getting consent to search the vehicle, troopers found 42 re-encoded credit cards, nine Bluetooth skimmer ribbons, one laptop, a USB skimmer ribbon attachment for a computer, multiple gas pump keys, gas pump security seals and other paraphernalia consistent with credit card fraud and identity theft. Troopers also found five grams of cocaine. The investigation led officers to a gas station in Illinois. 35 year old Yosvany Cabrera and 31 year old Rodovaldo Gonzalez, both of Miami, were arrested and booked at the Rutherford County Detention Center for felony possession of schedule two, 42 counts of criminal simulation 42 counts of identity theft and 42 counts of identity theft trafficking.
