TN COVID-19 Case Count For Thursday, May 21, 2020; Rhea Co. Cases Drastically Increase

The confirmed COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 18,961 as of May 21, 2020, including 313 deaths, 1,539 hospitalizations and 12,191 recovered.

Cumberland County has 26 active cases (down 2); 96 tested positive (up 2); 69 recovered (up 4) and 1 death officially reported.
Bledsoe County 607 COVID-19 cases to date; 601 recovered and one death
Putnam County reports 321; 146 recovered and 5 deaths.

The Tennessee Department of Health reports an additional 175 cases of COVID-19 in Rhea County as of Thursday, a drastic increase from the 13 total cases that had been reported previously. That brings Rhea County?s total positive cases to 188. The spike in cases is being attributed to migrants workers who tested positive at a farm in the county. Rhea County is expecting another dramatic increase in positive coronavirus cases after this Memorial Day weekend.
