Chief Mike Turner of the Crossville Fire Department is warning area residents about a new phone scam that is going around. This scam consists of subjects calling residents and falsely stating that they are the Fire Chief and requesting money for children. Crossville Fire Department DOES NOT make any phone calls requesting money or donations to the department by any means. Do not fall for this scam and never give out your personal or financial information. If you have any questions concerning this matter or feel you have been scammed please call Cumberland County Sheriff Department or Crossville Police Department non-emergency numbers.
