Late Monday night NASCAR announced that the 2020 All-Star Race will be moved from Charlotte to Tennessee. The annual race with a grand prize of $1,000,000 will be raced at Bristol Tennessee. This is the first time the All-Star race will be on a short track and the first time since 1986 that the race will not be in Charlotte and only the second time that the race has been moved out of North Carolina. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Sullivan County officials have allowed up to 30,000 people to attend the All-Star showdown. Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith stated that with the current data surrounding the pandemic in North Carolina makes Bristol a better option for fan access this summer. The race will be held on July 15th at 6:30 on Fox Sports 1.
