A Rhea County man has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after his girlfriend’s body was found in a shallow grave near a school in Dayton, Tennessee. WTVC reports that Guy O’Connell was indicted on October 5, nearly two month after 34-year-old Amber Renee Monday went missing. Monday’s body was found near Laurel Brook School on Dayton Mountain in September, reportedly about three weeks after she was reported missing. Authorities are not commenting on cause of death, but it is considered a homicide according to WTVC. O’Connell is currently in the Douglas County Jail in Lawrence, Kansas. Authorities have begun the process of getting him extradited back to Tennessee.
