Appeals court keeps Tennessee mail voting signature match

Oct 16, 2020 | 5:00 AM

A U.S. appellate panel won’t change Tennessee’s signature matching requirement for absentee voting before the November election, affirming a lower court’s decision. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals three-judge panel split Thursday in denying the preliminary injunction, which sought to let voters fix signature issues before mail ballot rejections. The last day to request an absentee ballot is October 27 and you are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. If you have any questions about early voting or voting on November 3, go to GoVoteTN.com or call the Division of Elections toll-free at 1-877-850-4959. Cumberland County residents are encouraged to call 931-494-4919.
