Two Motorcyclists Arrested for Evading

On Wednesday Deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office observed a motorcycle on Peavine road fail to use turn signal and also had no break light. The Deputy ran registration which came back to a Suzuki motorcycle however it was displayed on a Honda motorcycle. The motorcyclist failed to stop for blue lights and sirens and began to speed up. The deputy terminated the pursuit do to wet road conditions. As the deputy came to a stop to an intersection he saw the suspects motorcycle laying on the side of the road entering a wooded area. After a quick foot pursuit Alex Corey Sanders was apprehended. Sanders sustained a cut to his left hand, and an abrasion to his left knee. After Sanders was taken to Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for intake he was transported to the Cumberland Medical Center ER. Alex Sanders was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest and Driving on Revoked.

On Thursday evening a Deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office observed a motorcycle pass them at a extremely high rate of speed. The officer turned around and initiated emergency lights and sirens. The motorcycle passed a woman with two juvenile males on bicycles at a high rate of speed. As the motorcycle and deputy turned onto Browns Creek Road, the motorcycle fishtailed while coming to a stop. The driver was identified as Jason Hyder. Mr. Hyder told officers several comments about if he wouldn’t have stopped he would have never been caught. Jason Hyder was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest and Reckless Endangerment.
