The Greater Sudbury Canada native Alex Trebek has passed away due to his battle with pancreatic cancer. Trebek is known for hosting the game show "Jeopardy!" for the past 35 years after he started hosting in 1984. Alex Trebek hosted over 8,000 episodes of the game show and took home 6 Daytime Emmys. Trebek told CBS This Morning back in 2019 after he was diagnosed with the cancer that "it wouldn’t be right" if he walked away from the show. He never missed an episode after his diagnoses. Trebek passed away early this morning and was surrounded by friends and family. Alex Trebek is survived by his wife and two children and was 80 years old.
