Alabama Man Dies After Falling 50 Feet At GSMNP

An Alabama man lost his life after he fell over 50 feet while trying to take a picture at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It happened Tuesday afternoon at the Chimney Tops Overlook on Newfound Gap Road. Officials say 48-year-old Wesley Stedham was trying to take a photograph when he lost his footing on a steep slope. He died from severe head trauma.
