Dec 16, 2020 | 6:00 AM

An early morning fire has heavily damaged the Crawdaddy’s Restaurant building in downtown Cookeville. Cookeville Fire crews arrived at the West Broad Street location around 3:30am Wednesday (12/16/2020) and began battling to keep the flames from spreading to other businesses. Shortly after 6am crews had contained the blaze. No injuries were reported but the building has sustained considerable damage. West Broad Street from Walnut to Oak Street has been closed. The Crawdaddy’s fire marks the second blaze of the year in this area of downtown Cookeville after the building across the street caught fire in the spring. The cause of the Crawdaddy’s fire was not immediately determined.
