A fiery crash on I-40 West in Putnam County left a driver and passenger with only minor injuries. It happened around 8am Wednesday near the 293 westbound mile marker. According to Trooper Brandon Jackson’s preliminary report Mary E. Linebaugh, age 60, of Maryville, Tennessee hydroplaned, lost control of her Mercedes and struck a guardrail. The Mercedes then caught fire and became fully engulfed. Ms. Linebaugh and her passenger, 64-year-old Lisa Stroupe, of Powell, Tennessee both refused EMS treatment for minor injuries.
