Governor Lee Signs Executive Order Limiting Indoor Public Gatherings

Dec 21, 2020 | 6:00 AM

In Sunday’s address, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced he will be signing an executive order to limit public gatherings to 10 and limiting attendance to indoor sporting events. Worship services, weddings and funerals are not considered social gatherings but are strongly encouraged to limit attendance and utilize virtual and online services. High School sports will continue with limited attendance. In light of the recent spike in positive cases and deaths in Tennessee, Lee says he’ll ask businesses to allow employees to work from home when possible for the next 30 days. While not issuing a mandate on masks, Governor Lee did urge everyone to wear one. Lee noted things would get worse before they get better calling it "a cold, cruel phase in the pandemic." The governor also urged Tennesseans to only gather in your own household this holiday season.
