(WVLT/Peg Broadcasting News) –  The City of Gatlinburg announced its New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration has been cancelled due to rising cases of COVID-19, WVLT reports.  Gatlinburg officials say while the city welcomes visitors to celebrate the holidays in the Great Smoky Mountains, the fireworks celebration was canceled in response to Governor Lee’s appeal to Tennesseans to avoid large public gatherings at this time.
