A Crossville woman was fortunate to escape injury after her vehicle went over an embankment in the Rinnie Stretch Sunday night. First responders got the call around 5 p.m. According to Trooper Chris Bennett’s preliminary report, 31-year-old Tristan Nicole Shepherd was driving a 2005 Toyota Prius North on Highway 127 North when her car ran off the roadway. The vehicle traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Ms. Shepherd was wearing a seatbelt and reportedly was not hurt. She was charged with Failure To Exercise Due Care.
