In preparation for students returning to school next week, Cumberland County Director of Schools, Dr. Ina Maxwell, has released a schools update. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 5th, for in-person learning except those previously approved for virtual. Should the county active cases of the coronavirus continue to be above 607, students in grades 3-12 will be issued devices to take home with them on Tuesday afternoon, January 5th. If the district transitions to remote learning on Wednesday, January 6th, students will continue remote learning for the remainder of that week. Students in PreK through 2nd grades will continue in-person learning at this time. Bus transportation will continue on a regular schedule. Additional information will be provided once active case counts are published by the Tennessee Department of Health next week. Cumberland County’s reopening plan, which includes information regarding the color-coded metric system, may be found online at ccschools.k12tn.net.
