The Volunteers basketball program hosted the Mississippi State Bulldogs Tuesday night trying to snap a two game losing streak. Tennessee entered Tuesday’s game as the 18th ranked team in the nation after falling out of the top 10 earlier this week. Rick Barnes and his team was successful in defeating the Bulldogs in a close 56-53 victory. The Frenchman Yves Pons led Tennessee in scoring with 13 points and 2 rebounds. Keon Johnson and Santiago Vescovi also helped out scoring 8 points a piece. Tennessee will stay in Knoxville as the welcome the 15th Kansas Jayhawks Saturday January 30th as apart of the Big 12-SEC Challenge.
