Crossville City Manager Greg Wood reported yet another month of sales tax growth at Tuesday’s Crossville City Council meeting. According to Wood, sales tax collected for the month of October were just over $768,000, up by almost $60,000 the previous year. For the year to date, collections are at $4.68 million. Revenue from wholesale beer taxes were also up for the period at $59,813 while liquor income rose from the previous year as well, bringing in almost $43,000. The Hotel Occupancy Tax has been hardest hit by the pandemic with collections consistently down. For the latest reporting period, the city collected $10,089, down from the previous year’s collection of $12,637. Building permits remain strong with over $22,000 in permit fees collected for the month of December.
