A man wanted by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on the TBI Most Wanted List. John Michael Poss is wanted for the First Degree Murder of 30-year-old Austin Shane Lewis in early September 2020. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Mr. Lewis’ Neverfail Road home for a welfare check after Lewis’ girlfriend said that Lewis had been in an argument with another man the previous day and she had not heard from him since. Deputies arrived to find the front door seemed to have been forced open and they discovered Mr. Lewis deceased on the kitchen floor from an apparent shotgun wound to the chest. Poss is 33 years old, is 5’8″, and weights 155 lbs. He is bald and has blue eyes. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
