Some inmates in Tennessee have qualified to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s reported that the Tennessee Department of Correction has ordered almost 3,000 doses of the vaccine to be distributed to inmates 65 and older and to prisoners with health conditions that give them priority status. Since the pandemic began at least four TDOC employees and more than 40 inmates have died from the novel coronavirus. Over 2,900 TDOC staffers have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and inmate vaccination reportedly began Tuesday.
