One person was injured after an explosion Thursday morning in Roane County at a metal scrap recycler, WVLT reports. According to the Roane Co. Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to PSC Metals around 10 a.m. on reports of an explosion. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was called to the location and one person was taken to UT Medical Center. Officials did not immediately identify the victim nor the extent of that person’s injuries. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) began investigating the scene as an explosives incident. ATF says anyone with information about the explosion should notify police immediately and call 911.
