Items Belonging To Morgan County Man Missing Since 2017 Found Near Human Skulll

Blue jeans, a belt, a hoodie and a pocket knife identified as belonging to a Morgan County man who has been missing since 2017 have been found in a wooded area in Morgan County.  A revolver was reportedly found in the water below a waterfall and a human skull was located downstream.  An ATV belonging to Kevin Hamby was also recovered in a remote and steep area near Pilot Mountain according to District Attorney Russell Johnson.  Kevin Hamby, age 38, was last seen on November 14, 2017 riding the ATV away from his home in the Gobey area.  The skull has been sent off for DNA testing to make a positive identification.  While the cause of death cannot be determined at this time, DA Johnson posted to Facebook that the skull showed no sign of trauma or gunshot wound.  There is some speculation that Mr. Hamby may have wrecked the ATV and died while trying to walk out of the area.  However, authorities stress that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about Kevin Hamby’s disappearance is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 865-346-6262.
