Monday afternoon NASCAR held a Camping World Truck Series and Cup Series dirt race in Thunder Valley at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol Tennessee. Last year NASCAR announced that these races would be held on dirt and after months of work and 2,300 truckloads of dirt the track was prepared. The Camping World Truck Series took the track first and saw a first time Series winner in Martin Truex Jr. The Cup Series race was held later in the afternoon and finished in overtime. Martin Truex Jr., at first, yet again looked like the dominant driver leading the most laps with 126, however it would be Joey Logano that prevailed beating Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Denny Hamlin in overtime. Bristol and NASCAR have announced that the 2022 Bristol Spring race will be once again raced on dirt.
