A Putnam County woman died Wednesday in a residential fire on Big Orange Drive. The 47-year-old woman’s husband reportedly returned home to discover the house full of smoke. He went inside and dragged his wife to the front porch. Firefighters arrived around 1:45pm and say the woman was unconscious and could not be resuscitated. She passed away and three cats inside the home also died. Authorities did not immediately identify the mother of two teenagers. The fire caused significant damage to the kitchen and living room and is still under investigation.
