Cumberland County’s April 2021 jobless rate fell by 1.9 percent from March to 4.7 percent, which is down 8.8 percent from a year ago. Across the state in April, nearly all counties experienced a decrease in unemployment during the month. In year-to-year comparisons, each county showed a remarkable recovery from pandemic-era unemployment rates one year ago. Seventy of the state’s 95 counties now have rates less than 5%.
