A committee is pointing fingers at police in Nashville for their apparent lack of follow-up after the girlfriend of the 2020 Christmas Day bomber warned police in 2019 that he was building bombs on his property. The girlfriend even told Metro Police that Anthony Quinn Warner was building the bombs in an RV parked at his property, which is the same RV he parked in downtown Nashville and detonated on Christmas Day. Warner was killed, several others were injured and dozens of buildings were heavily damaged. The After-Action Review Board noted that Metro Officers did follow protocol, but it also concluded that police did not perform updates on Warner’s open file in more than a year and there is a lack of documentation regarding officers’ attempts to contact Warner prior to the suicide bombing.
