Tennessee Inmate Escapes Custody While Heading to COVID-19 Testing

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, they and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are looking for an escaped inmate who was on his was to get tested for COVID-19, WVLT Reports. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook saying, Anthony Burnette escaped custody while being transported to get a COVID-19 test. The post also states “He was last seen entering the woods behind the health department. He is handcuffed, barefooted and wearing orange inmate clothing,”. Anthony Burnette is charged with Drug Possession and Criminal Trespassing, if you see or know the whereabouts of Mr. Burrnette the Sheriff’s Office asks that you call 911.
