Grassroots group Tennesseans Against Ending Benefits Early is suing Governor Bill Lee and the State for cutting off federal unemployment benefits more than two months before the program expires, WZTV reports.  Already, people in Indiana and Maryland have sued and won, getting their federal help reinstated.  Cases are a pending in Ohio, Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas.   In making his decision to stop the $300 a week benefits early, Governor Lee said at the time that people needed to get back to work to fill more than 250,000 job openings in the state.  Looking into the effectiveness of  the Governor’s plan, WZTV reports there are now over 272,000 job openings in Tennessee.
