The Cumberland County High School Jets opened their season with a road trip to Whitwell High School to play the Tigers. The Jets scored on their opening possession of the season, led 14-0 at the half and cruised to a 35-0 road win.
Stone Memorial traveled to Lenoir City High School Friday night as the Panthers battled the Panthers in game one of the season. The home team posted a 42-28 win over Stone Memorial. SMHS held a 22-21 lead at the half, but Lenoir City rallied for the win.
Friday, August 27th, Stone Memorial will host the East Ridge Pioneers, catch all the action on Mix 99.3. The Pioneers will be playing their first game of the season. The CCHS Jets will be on the road playing the Wildcats at Monterey High School, 102.5 WOW COUNTRY will have a live broadcast. Monterey recorded a 35-6 victory over Cannon County in their first game this season.
