Scam Alert: Calls Spoof TBI Phone Number

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is alerting the public that someone has spoofed TBI’s phone number and has been calling people claiming to be an officer.  The caller says they are following-up on an alleged complaint and then asks for personal information.  This is a scam.  TBI officers do not make such phone calls.  Anyone receiving this kind of phone call should hang up immediately and, if you’d like, report any information to 1-800-TBI-FIND or TipsToTBI@tn.gov.
