Deputy In Serious Condition After Being Shot Early Friday Morning In Sullivan County.

TBI agents are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early this morning (Friday, January 21, 2022) in Sullivan County. The deputy was listed in serious condition Friday morning after he was shot while authorities were attempting to serve a warrant.  News outlets report that the shooting suspect was taken into custody after a several-hours-long standoff with police.  The wounded deputy, whose name was not released, was taken to Johnson Medical Center and was awaiting surgery.
