A Deer Lodge man was arrested after his vehicle ran off the road Monday in the area of Matherly Street and North Main Street. Crossville police say 42-year-old William Eugene Spencer, III was slumped over the wheel with the vehicle resting against a city sign. Mr. Spencer had slurred speech and was uneasy on his feet. Police say Mr. Spencer consented to a search of his vehicle and police found multiple syringes and a substance that field tested positive for heroin. After Mr. Spencer was released from the hospital, he was taken into custody and served warrants for DUI and Simple Possession.
