High School Basketball

The Stone Memorial High School basketball teams closed out regular season District play with home games against Livingston Academy Friday night.  The Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Wildcats 66-27.  The Lady Panthers finish with a 3 and 9 District mark and will open the District Tournament with a road game.  The Panthers posted a 59-54 win over the Wildcats.  With the win the SMHS Panthers claim the top spot in the District with a 9 and 3 regular season record and also earn the top-seed in the upcoming District 7AAA Tournament.

Cumberland County High School traveled to White County High School for District games on Friday.  The Lady Jets, now 8 and 3 in District play, rallied to defeat the Warriorettes 65-48.  In the final game of the night the Warriors held on to down the Jets 59-51.  The teams meet again Saturday (2/12) at CCHS.  The Lady Jets and Warriorettes game will tip at 6:00 as they battle for the top spot in the District standings.  The Jets game against the Warriors follows the girls contest as CCHS and White County plays for the second straight night to see which team can claim second in the District.  Catch the live broadcast on 102.5 WOW COUNTRY.
