Man Accused Of Starting Fire At Memphis Hospital

A Memphis man, who reportedly got upset in the emergency department of Methodist South in Whitehaven, is accused of setting his mattress on fire and opening the valves on oxygen tanks in an attempt to blow up the hospital.  The Memphis Fire Department responded around 3pm Sunday and discovered the room was engulfed in flames.  As officers tried to detain Devonta Willis, he reportedly tried to set them on fire as well.  Staff and patients were evacuated and no injuries were reported.  Willis was charged with 59 counts of aggravated arson, vandalism and resisting official detention.
