Pedestrian Killed Friday Night On Hwy 70 At Lantana

A pedestrian was killed Friday night after he was hit by a Crossville Police cruiser.  It happened on West Avenue at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Lantana Road.  According to the THP, Patrolman Jordan Winningham was traveling south on Hwy 70 in the left lane.  The report states the pedestrian, identified as 69-year-old Jerry Wright, of Crossville, ran across the roadway into the path of the cruiser.  Mr. Wright was struck and died from his injuries.
