The head coach for the girl’s basketball team at Red Boiling Springs High School was busted last week for reportedly buying meth on high school property. Layce Colter, 30, was arrested Thursday during a drug sting by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. Colter, who is also a teacher, has been suspended from all duties in the Macon County School System.
The arrest has shocked many in the community who remember Layce Colter when she played basketball at Red Boiling Springs High School. She is one of the most decorated players in school history and all-time leading scorer.
Before her arrest, her team, the Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs won the Region 4-1A Tornament against Clay County. The Lady Bulldogs were hoping to advance to the state tournament this week but fell to Van Buren County on Saturday, 43-30.
