A hostage situation at a West Tennessee business ended early Friday morning in an officer-involved shooting that left the suspect dead.   Police were called Thursday afternoon to Dean’s Tax Service in Covington, Tennessee to a report of a woman being held against her will at gunpoint.  Business owner Pam Dean was reportedly held hostage for nearly 13 hours.  An employee with a child managed to escape.  Throughout the night authorities attempted to negotiate with the man who took Dean hostage.  Authorities say the suspect stated numerous times that he would kill Ms. Dean and that “nobody was getting out alive”.  Early Friday morning the ordeal ended after the suspect fired at Deputies as they were rescuing Ms. Dean.  A sniper shot back, killing the suspect who has not been identified.  One SWAT team member was shot and rushed to the hospital for surgery; he is expected to recover.  The victim is also recovering in the hospital.   Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley reportedly said the suspect made no demands.
