German Magazine Says Volkswagen Considering 2nd Chattanooga Plant

“Manager Magazin”, a German magazine is reporting that officials at Volkswagen are considering building a second plant in Chattanooga, right next to the current one.  It’s reported that VW wants to shift more production to the United States as a result of the war in Ukraine.  The move would also strengthen its business in America.  According to Reuters, the Chattanooga expansion could include production of an electric pick-up truck and the new ID.Buzz microbus.  WTVC reached out to a spokesperson at Volkswagen Chattanooga who said it is “just speculation at this point.”
