Cumberland County’s June unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, up 1.2 percent from May’s rate of 4.0 percent. The county’s June 2022 jobless rate is down 0.6 percent from the June 2021 rate of of 5.8 percent.
School employees on their yearly summer break were one of the factors that impacted the June 2022 county unemployment rates, according to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). The latest statistics showed, as they typically do in June, jobless numbers increased in each of the state’s 95 counties.
Statewide, unemployment remained unchanged between May and June at 3.3 percent.
The national unemployment rate for June was 3.6 percent.
