The Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct has suspended Circuit Court Judge Jonathan Lee Young for the rest of his term, which ends August 31, 2022. Since 2014, Young has served on the bench in the 13th Judicial District, which includes Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Overton, Pickett, Putnam and White Counties. The 30-day suspension comes after an investigative panel of the Board “found reasonable cause to believe Judge Young committed misconduct” in an adoption case in his court and a major opioid case that was pending in his court. The Order of Suspension and all pertinent documents will be provided to the Board of Professional Responsibility to determine, in its discretion, what further action may be appropriate after August 31, 2022.
