The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Grundy County Wednesday night that ended with the suspect dead. Deputies from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a man pointing a rifle at passing vehicles on Colony Road in Gruetli-Laager. When deputies arrived, they say 64-year-old Joe Pickett, 64, refused to drop the weapon and instead pointed it at the officers. One deputy fired on Pickett who died at a nearby hospital.
