Crossville’s portion of the sales tax was over a million dollars again, according to Crossville City Manager Greg Wood. In Wood’s report to council on Tuesday, he told council that sales tax collections were $1.07 million for the latest period, up by over $200,000 from the same time last year. Wholesale beer tax collections were also up from last year at $72,000. While liquor sales were up for the period, collections were down due to a change in the percentage received by the city because of increased population.
