The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports that a body found early Thursday afternoon (October 27, 2022) is believed to be 15-year-old Olivia Daryl Taylor, who was Wednesday night by her parents.
The body was initially located in a wooded area East of Cookeville in Putnam County by Putnam County Road Department employees. Even though it is very early in the initial stages of the investigation Sheriff Eddie Farris said that the investigation is clearly being worked as a homicide.
As of Thursday afternoon, there had been one arrest in the investigation. Charles “Chuck” Carter was arrested and charged Wednesday night with Aggravated Statutory Rape in regards to the missing juvenile and is being held at the Putnam County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Now, Carter is also a suspect in the death investigation regarding Taylor. The body will be sent for an autopsy at the medical examiners office in Nashville.
