The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect in the death of a Putnam County girl is now being held without bond. Charles “Chuck” Carter, age 63, was arrested Wednesday night (October 26, 2022) and initially charged with Aggravated Statutory Rape in regards to the disappearance of 15-year-old Olivia Daryl Taylor. Thursday afternoon, Putnam County Road Department employees found Olivia’s body in a wooded area East of Cookeville. Carter is a suspect in the ongoing homicide investigation.
Olivia Taylor was a student at Upperman High School where she was a member of the wrestling team and the ROTC. She loved baking, sewing, singing, being an artist and playing the ukulele. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 12 noon from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville.
