Former Crossville Fire Chief Mike Turner wins seat on city council

Mike Turner, former fire chief of the city of Crossville, picked up the most votes in Tuesday’s election to gain a seat on the Crossville City Council, nudging off incumbent Rob Harrison. Turner also served as a council member in the 90s before taking the fire chief position. Incumbent council member Art Gernt received the second most votes to retain his seat. The final tally was Mike Turner 1523, Art Gernt 1414, and Rob Harrison 1195. Council member RJ Crawford, running unopposed for the office of Crossville Mayor, picked up 2097 votes. For the December meeting, the Crossville City Council will be tasked with appointing a member to fill Crawford’s vacant council seat.
