Oak Ridge National Laboratory is working on a hydrogen powered train engine in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory and Wabtec. Scientist say it will significantly reduce carbon emission and the technology can be applied to other types of transportation. ORNL officials told WVLT that it will be at least 10 years for the engine to be put to commercial use.
