An escaped Monroe County inmate was captured Saturday morning in Knox County. On Friday, Ricky Lynn Burnett was reportedly assigned to the Monroe County Maintenance Department as an inmate worker when authorities say he stole a truck belonging to a maintenance employee. Because the employee had two guns in the truck, Burnett was considered armed and dangerous. Burnette was wanted for felony escape and motor vehicle theft. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office did not immediately provide details on Burnett’s capture, but did thank all of the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies that assisted in helping locate Mr. Burnette.
