New council members take oath during swearing in ceremonies in Crossville

Crossville City Judge Ivy Gardner Mayberry administered the oath of office to incumbent council member Art Gernt, newly elected member Mike Turner and newly elected mayor, RJ Crawford before full house Thursday evening. Mayor Crawford, in closing remarks, told the crowd that he wanted to continue the projects and momentum set up by outgoing mayor, James Mayberry. The council will meet for the first time on Tuesday, December 6 at 5:00 pm for their monthly work session and then for the regular session on December 13. Items to be addressed include the appointment of a council member to fill the remainder of Mayor Crawford’s council seat.
