SMHS Wrestling Goes 2-3 & Paige Patton Wins Gold at I-40 Clash

Saturday the Stone Memorial Wrestling Team hosted the Annual I-40 Clash. 10 boys teams from across the state competed against each other in the main gym while the girls wrestled in a individual tournament in the auxiliary gym.

The SMHS boys team went 2-3 Saturday picking up wins against Ooltewah High School 69-36 and Hardin Valley Academy 42-39. The Panthers dropped dual’s to Page High School 54-27, Halls 68-5, and Wayne County High School out of Kentucky 48-33.

In the Aux Gym three girls from SMHS placed with Senior Paige Patton winning the Championship her first Gold Medal at the I-40 Clash. Two other seniors placed in Saturdays tournament with Jaylin Patton and Haley Suggs placed 3rd in their respective weight classes.

Next for Panther Wrestling is a trip to Cookeville High School on Tuesday December 13th as they take on the Cavaliers of Cookeville and Coffee County.
