White County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man suspected of shooting into a home in White County where 3 adults and 2 children were present. On January 4, 2023 shortly after 1pm, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Iris Drive and Camp Drive in reference to a male subject wearing a mask and armed with a sawed-off shotgun who was shooting into the home during a possible break-in.
Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jesse D. Dotson who fled with police in pursuit. Dotson’s vehicle was eventually disabled by a patrol unit and he was apprehended. Three White County patrol vehicles were severely damaged and 2 White County Deputies received minor injuries during the chase. Police later confirmed a gunshot was fired into the home. Mr. Dotson was taken to the White County Justice Center and charged with one count of Felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle, 8 counts of aggravated assault, resisting official detention and 4 citations. His bail was set at $102,500 and he is due in General Sessions Court on January 10 at 9am. (Photo courtesy White County Sheriff’s Office)
