Stone Memorial High School played host to Upperman High School on Tuesday. The defending state champion Lady Bees posted a 54-35 win over the Lady Panthers. In the final game of the night the SMHS Panthers, ranked 2nd this week in the state according to the Associated Press, remained unbeaten in District play with a 56-43 victory over Upperman. Next up for the Panthers and Lady Panthers will be their homecoming games Friday (2/3) as they entertain Macon County. The action will air live on Mix 99.3.

Cumberland County traveled to Livingston Academy for a pair of District 7AAA games. According to the Associated Press, the second ranked team in the state played host to the seventh ranked team in the state in the girl’s match-up. The Lady Jets fell to the Lady Wildcats, 38-36. The Lady Jets outscored the home team by 15 points from 3-point range but were outscored 14 to 3 from the free throw line in the two-point loss. The Jets fell to the Wildcats in the final game of the night 76-50. Friday, 2/3, CCHS is back on the road with games at Upperman. 102.5 WOW COUNTRY will have the broadcast beginning at 5:55.
